RadiSys and Embedded 4 You Demonstrate a Complete Turnkey Platform for Industrial Control and Automation at The SPS/IPC/Drives Exhibition

The company has developed, with industry consortium Embedded4You, a powerful multi-core, turnkey platform for industrial automation.

25 November 2008 - RadiSys Corporation (NASDAQ: RSYS), a leading global provider of advanced embedded solutions, today announced that it has developed, with industry consortium Embedded4You, a powerful multi-core, turnkey platform for industrial automation. The demonstration showcases the integration of general purpose Microsoft Windows and RadiSys’ Microware OS-9 real time operating system running concurrently on a RadiSys COM Express module. This hybrid approach allows individual systems to merge onto a single platform to reduce hardware cost, reuse available software and improve system performance.

RadiSys and Embedded 4 You are demonstrating the platform at the SPS/IPC/Drives exhibition in Nurnberg on 25-27 November 2008 at the Embedded4You booth located at Stand 7A-410, Hall 7A.

The multi-core demo implements Embedded4You member Real Time Systems’ Hypervisor to support Windows and OS-9 running concurrently on the Intel Core Duo processor. The Hypervisor partitions the general-purpose and real-time environments, allowing each operating system to run in a trusted environment. This allows OS-9 to guarantee high real-time reliability, stability and system response time with zero impact on other applications running on the system.
