SunMan Engineering, Inc. Launches its Intel Atom Reference Design

Targeted towards automotive and embedded applications development.

San Jose — Sept 22, 2010 — SunMan Engineering has formed a special partnership with Intel for early access & development to the Atom chipsets. Using Intel's Atom Architecture, SunMan can develop products for use in a wide variety of commercial, industrial, and consumer applications. This will be targeted to OEMs that want to develop products quickly utilizing the new Intel Atom processor without impacting their internal resources.

Automotive Applications

The SunMan Reference Design lends itself perfectly to Automotive applications, including: car PC's, Navigation systems, In car entertainment systems, law enforcement and transportation vehicles, and other hi-tech telematics devices.

Product Applications

The Intel Atom enables the development and design of ultra slim and passively cooled embedded applications that require the feature set of a normal computer thus has opened up many new market opportunities in areas that demand low power and scalability The range of applications include but are not limited to: UMPC's, Netbooks, Smartphones, tablet PC's, Small form factor mainboards and System on Module (SOM) applications. The reference design can also be used to develop industrial automation control systems, as well as POS/POI systems, Kiosk, and other embedded computing platforms.
