High-Performance SBC Comes on PC/104-sized Card

VersaLogic’s “Wildcat” is a veryhigh- performance single-board computer (SBC) built around a second-generation Intel® Core™2 Duo processor (SP9300). The entire SBC fits on a single 4.2-x-3.8-in. (107-x-96-mm) board. Wildcat is designed for applications that require extreme CPU and video processing in a compact package. The Intel Core 2 Duo processor SP9300 is combined with the Mobile Intel® GS45 Express chipset and Intel® ICH9M I/O controller hub to form a very-high-performance system. This SBC is well suited for compute-intensive, high-end applications, such as flight navigation, guidance systems, and medical scanning/imaging. Wildcat is qualified to MIL-STD-202G shock and vibration standards for use in harsh environments.

Available in both a standard (0º to +60ºC) and an extendedtemperature version (-40º to +85ºC), the Wildcat runs at speeds to 2.26 GHz with typical power consumption of 19.5 W. Onboard features include up to 4 GBytes of DDR3 RAM, a Gigabit Ethernet port, four USB 2.0 ports, dual SATA interface, serial port, digital HD audio support, and a latching MiniBlade™ socket for high-reliability Flash storage. Thanks to a new Intel Core 2 Duo processor package, the Wildcat can pack extreme CPU and video performance into a PC/104-sized card. The small-formfactor (SFF), micro-FCBGA package uses 0.5-mm pitch balls to fit 956 connections in very little space.
